Respite Care Worker

The Bradford Council is seeking a skilled Respite Care Worker to provide support to families with children who have physical and learning disabilities.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced child care workers to work as part of a team providing short break services across the district.
As a Casual Support Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting young people with complex needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, profound multiple learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
You will work alongside established teams at Clockhouse, Wedgewood, Valleyview, and BEST, offering activities and stimulation within the community and homes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting young people with daily living tasks
- Providing emotional support and reassurance
- Engaging in activities that promote socialisation and community interaction
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 in care of children and young people or equivalent
- Experience working with children with complex needs
- Ability to work unsociable hours, including weekends and bank holidays
- Willingness to undertake training and development
