Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Years professional to join our team at Fife Council. As a Senior Early Years Officer, you will play a key role in promoting children's learning, development, and welfare within a nursery context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to promote inclusion, diversity, and equality in the nursery setting.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including parents, carers, and other professionals, to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Contribute to and lead on wider development within the nursery, as appropriate, to ensure high-quality provision.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant policies, procedures, and legislation to ensure compliance and best practice.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant practitioner-level qualification, such as HNC Childhood Practice or SVQ Level 3 Social Services, Children and Young People.
  • Have experience of working with young children in a formal setting.
  • Be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at practitioner level and complete required post-registration training and learning (PRTL).
  • Have a working knowledge of the Curriculum for Excellence, Realising the Ambition, and child development from birth to 5 years.
  • Demonstrate high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to lead on aspects of team work within the nursery.
