About the Role

SAMH is seeking a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team. As a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner, you will work in a dual role, embedded within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), supporting individuals accessing the service in hospital in-reach, home, and community-based settings.

You will use your own lived experience of mental health issues to support service users in a recovery-focused way, using goal setting and person-centered approaches. You will enhance the support provided to individuals by developing mutually empowering relationships and facilitating group work or individual sessions to aid their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in a proactive approach, supporting people in communities of diversity
  • Develop and maintain strong, people-focused values
  • Contribute to risk and support management in a clinical setting
  • Support individuals in identifying their strengths and areas for development
  • Facilitate group work or individual sessions to aid recovery
What We're Looking For

We're seeking individuals with great people skills, honesty, reliability, and resilience in challenging situations. You will work autonomously, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to risk and support management in a clinical setting.

We value initiative, compassion, energy, and determination, and the ability to motivate and inspire people to develop their skills and self-confidence. Travel is an essential part of the role, and a valid driving license and access to your own vehicle are required.
