SAMH is seeking a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team. As a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner, you will work in a dual role, embedded within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT), supporting individuals accessing the service in hospital in-reach, home, and community-based settings.
You will use your own lived experience of mental health issues to support service users in a recovery-focused way, using goal setting and person-centered approaches. You will enhance the support provided to individuals by developing mutually empowering relationships and facilitating group work or individual sessions to aid their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities- Work in a proactive approach, supporting people in communities of diversity
- Develop and maintain strong, people-focused values
- Contribute to risk and support management in a clinical setting
- Support individuals in identifying their strengths and areas for development
- Facilitate group work or individual sessions to aid recovery
We're seeking individuals with great people skills, honesty, reliability, and resilience in challenging situations. You will work autonomously, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and contribute to risk and support management in a clinical setting.
We value initiative, compassion, energy, and determination, and the ability to motivate and inspire people to develop their skills and self-confidence. Travel is an essential part of the role, and a valid driving license and access to your own vehicle are required.
