Penumbra’s Short term housing support service offer personalised and flexible support to people who are living in their own home. We work across the West Fife area and offer recovery focused practical and emotional support that is based on the individual needs and goals of each person. We provide enabling support to people in their home, who require it to achieve independence. A recent care inspection report stated, “There was a strong sense of organisational identity with staff feeling Valued, heard and proud to work for Penumbra”.

As a Mental Health & Wellbeing Worker (Peer), you will provide short term housing support to people in their own homes, you will assist with tasks of budgeting, maximising income, dealing with correspondence, healthy eating and cooking, attending appointments and property maintenance. We support people to develop skills, connect with other sources of support and gain control of their own lives.

There is an additional expectation that the Mental Health and Wellbeing Worker (Peer) will be involved in the ongoing development of peer roles and will make a positive contribution to the reduction in stigma associated with mental health issues by providing awareness raising sessions and attending community events. You will be required to develop, build, and maintain professional links to deliver outcome focused support.
