Dunfermline, Fife, United Kingdom Scottish Action for Mental Health Full time

**About Scottish Action for Mental Health**

Scottish Action for Mental Health is a national mental health charity that has been serving Scotland for almost 100 years. Our mission is to provide mental health social care support and services to adults and young people in over 60 communities.

We are committed to creating a society where everyone can live their life fully, regardless of past or present circumstances. We strive to achieve this by offering individually tailored recovery and wellbeing plans to help individuals identify their strengths and areas for improvement.

As a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner with SAMH, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs). You will use your own lived experience of mental health issues to support service users in a recovery-focused way using goal-setting and person-centred approaches.

The role requires a high degree of autonomous working, and you will be responsible for facilitating group work or individual sessions to aid individuals in their recovery journey. You will also work with people from diverse backgrounds and have a strong people-focused values base.

**What We Are Looking For**

We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to respect and dignity for those we serve. As a Peer Wellbeing Practitioner, you will need great people skills, honesty, reliability, and resilience in challenging situations. You will contribute to risk and support management in a clinical setting and work towards developing mutually empowering relationships with service users.

The ideal candidate will have a proactive approach, energy, determination, and the ability to motivate and inspire others. You will also have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally through funded continuous learning and development opportunities.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is £25,468 per annum, pro rata. In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive a range of benefits, including:

  • Fully funded PDA peer support qualification
  • Reimbursement of PVG check
  • Funded continuous learning and development opportunities
  • 30 days annual leave rising to 33 after 5 years' service (pro rata)
  • 4 public holidays (pro-rata)
  • 2 paid wellbeing days off per year to use on what matters to you (pro-rata)

**How to Apply**

We encourage applications from people who have experienced mental health difficulties. A PVG check is required for this post, along with a Right to Work in the UK check. Candidates will also be required to provide proof of qualifications declared on the application form.
