About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing dysphagia and communication impairments in patients undergoing radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support patients with swallowing and communication needs during radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment
  • Assess and manage acute patients with swallowing or communication difficulties in the oncology inpatient wards
  • Develop and implement evidence-based changes to practice, alongside senior SLTs
  • Participate in MDT meetings and deliver training to other health professionals

We offer a range of benefits, including a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata.

Requirements
  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered member of the RCSLT
  • Current registration with HCPC
  • Postgraduate training in dysphagia to Level C 'Dysphagia Training and Competency Framework (2014)' or equivalent
