Speech and Language Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients undergoing radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment, providing expert support and care to address their swallowing and communication needs.
Main Responsibilities- Assess and manage patients with swallowing and communication disorders, including those with head and neck cancer and tracheostomy or laryngectomy.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff and students, promoting their professional development and growth.

Person SpecificationWe are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- Registered member of the RCSLT.
- Current registration with HCPC.
- Postgraduate training in dysphagia to Level C 'Dysphagia Training and Competency Framework (2014)' or equivalent.
- Member of relevant SIG/CEN.
