Job Title: Children's Nurse Lead

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Children's Nurse to lead our team of dedicated professionals in providing exceptional care to our young patients.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in paediatric nursing, with a minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 or above. They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team to deliver high-quality care.

The role will involve facilitating expert inter-professional care for sick babies, children, and young people, and their families. The successful candidate will also be responsible for integrating management of inpatient wards to ensure a cohesive and streamlined service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of paediatric nursing principles and practices, and be able to provide professional leadership, including participation in standard setting and leading in the maintenance of care standards.

The successful candidate will also be able to coordinate a team to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to patients and their families, reflecting the UHD Approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate expert inter-professional care for sick babies, children, and young people, and their families.
  • Integrate management of inpatient wards to ensure a cohesive and streamlined service.
  • Provide professional leadership, including participation in standard setting and leading in the maintenance of care standards.
  • Coordinate a team to ensure the delivery of effective nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the Clinical Governance agenda at ward level, including management of risk and contribution to the Directorate agenda.
Requirements:
  • Registration on Part 1, 8 or 15 of NMC RSCN/Child Branch.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in related specialty at previous grade.
  • Evidence of leading, motivating, and supporting a team.
