Job Title: Power Systems Modeling Engineer

Job Type: Contract

Location: Peterborough (initially) with hybrid work arrangement

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Modeling Engineer to join our team at Innova Solutions International. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating and validating 0D and 1D engine and hybrid power system models to simulate engine or powertrain control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate 1D power system and machine models to evaluate and optimize novel engine and hybrid components and subsystems.
  • Compare and validate simulation results with physical power system test data.
  • Propose, research, develop, implement, and test new sub-models for improved prediction of engine performance and emissions from 1D simulation tools.
  • Report simulation results and provide recommendations to improve engine performance or resolve power system performance issues.
  • Collaborate with universities to advance the predictive capability of simulation tools for engines and hybrid power systems.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in automotive, engines, hybrid vehicles, combustion, or thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, or Python programming languages.
  • Experience with 0D/1D hybrid vehicle system simulation.
