Contract Opportunity in Power Systems Simulation


Innova Solutions International is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Simulation Engineer to join our team on a twelve-month contract basis. This role will be based in Peterborough, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid work arrangement.


The ideal candidate will have practical post-university experience in Power Systems Simulation and a strong background in creating 0D or 1D engine and hybrid power system models. They will be responsible for simulating engine or powertrain control systems, integrating, evaluating, and optimizing novel engine and hybrid components and subsystems.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement 0D or 1D engine and hybrid power system models to simulate engine or powertrain control systems
  • Use 1D power system and machine models to integrate, evaluate, and optimize novel engine and hybrid components and subsystems
  • Compare and validate simulation results with physical power system test data
  • Propose, research, develop, implement, and test new sub-models for improved prediction of engine performance and emissions from 1D simulation tools
  • Report simulation results and provide recommendations to improve engine performance or resolve power system performance issues
  • Collaborate with universities to advance predictive capability of simulation tools for engines and hybrid power systems


Requirements:


  • Master's degree in automotive, engines, hybrid vehicles, combustion, or thermodynamics
  • Proficiency in C or C++, Python programming languages
  • Experience with 0D / 1D Engine System Simulation and 0D / 1D Hybrid Vehicle System Simulation
  • Familiarity with GT Power, GT Suite, AVL Boost, AVL Cruise, and Ricardo Wave software
