About the Job:

The Head of Finance will be responsible for leading our finance team and supporting the Chief Executive in planning strategy for continued national and international success. The estimated salary for this role is £87,000 per annum, with excellent benefits including partial remote working, flexible hours, and 5 weeks' holiday.

Job Description Summary
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial management, annual reports, month-end close, profit and loss statements, budgeting, forecasting, VAT, cash handling, payroll, and balance sheet preparation.
  • Identifying Opportunities: Identify investment and fundraising opportunities for the charity.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with trustees and the chief executive, providing reports and advising on key financial decisions.
  • Negotiating Contracts: Negotiate key commercial contracts.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Leadership Experience: Previous experience as a Finance Director or Head of Finance, ideally in a charity or not-for-profit organization.
  • Accounting Certifications: Qualified accountant (CIMA or AAT).
  • International Business Acumen: Previous international exposure would be beneficial for driving the charity's global growth.
  • Software Competency: Working knowledge of transaction processing software.
  • Charity Sector Expertise: Interest or experience within the charity sector.
