Barnardo's is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Care Experienced Young People Support Specialist. In this role, you will work in partnership with Lincolnshire County Council to deliver the Leaving Care Service for care-experienced young people aged 16-25.
Key Responsibilities- Support, encourage, and empower care-experienced young people to live independent lives.
- Conduct pathway plan reviews, statutory visits, and risk assessments for Lincolnshire care-experienced young people.
- Offer information, advice, guidance, and support with accommodation, health, education, employment, and independent skills.
- Knowledge or experience of working with children in care and care-experienced young people.
- Presentation of self in a professional manner with a commitment to continued professional development.
- Desirable: experience of working with the Signs of Safety programme.
- Work in partnership with other agencies to provide information, advice, and guidance on employment, education, and training, finance, and health issues.
- Work on your own initiative and assist specialist workers in supporting care-experienced young people to attain their employment, housing, educational, and emotional wellbeing aspirations.
- Good level of knowledge and competency in the use of IT, using Microsoft programmes and internal platforms and systems.
