About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Children and Young People Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health Support Team in the Louth area. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead a service dedicated to improving the mental health and well-being of children and young people within education settings.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and support to EMHPs, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care and upholding safeguarding procedures.
  2. Service Development: Drive the implementation and evaluation of mental health programs in schools, aligning with local and national priorities and policies.
  3. Direct Interventions: Deliver targeted therapeutic interventions for children and young people, addressing low to moderate mental health issues using approaches like CBT and other evidence-based practices.
  4. Training and Education: Facilitate training sessions for school staff and parents to boost mental health awareness and effective support strategies.
  5. Consultation and Collaboration: Serve as the primary contact between schools, health services, and external agencies, offering expert guidance and fostering collaboration and effective communication.
Requirements
  1. Qualified EMHP with extensive mental health experience and a strong understanding of safeguarding and multi-agency working.
  2. Ability to travel independently across the county between bases and schools.
