Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Application Support Technical Lead to join our team. As a key member of our IT Operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical delivery, strategy, and leadership across our IT infrastructure, Microsoft cloud estate, and supporting services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the design and delivery of best-in-class application solutions for Speedy.
  • Manage the effective delivery of best-in-class applications for Speedy.
  • Oversee the management of our on-premise and cloud application estate and supporting services, including strategy formulation and direction across functional activities.
  • Act as the technical lead for our on-premise and cloud application estate and supporting services, providing technical expertise to support the Application Support Team.
  • Ensure that our on-premise and cloud application estate and supporting services adhere to expected levels of cyber security.
  • Manage and shape the Application Support Team, defining the support model and operational processes for new services, and managing escalations.
  • Provide accurate reporting on the performance of the Application Support team and service provision across all activities.
  • Ensure the availability and performance of our on-premise and cloud application estate and supporting services meet business needs while delivering within financial budgets.
  • Proactively propose, define, and manage plans to update and upgrade application software and services across the estate.
  • Effectively manage the Application Support Team to maximize individual potential, including development, recruitment, training, succession planning, and resource management.
  • Support the development and delivery of on-premise and cloud application solutions, including standards, policies, and processes to ensure governance structures are in place.
  • Manage the provision and maintenance of Speedy's on-premise and cloud application estate and supporting services, ensuring availability, information security, and capability meet business needs.
  • Support the IT Senior Leadership team in developing a technical vision for all applications, engaging with business units to develop strategic technical blueprints and reference architectures.
  • Support the development, implementation, and transition into production of the IT Velocity Vision and Strategy in relation to on-premise and cloud applications.
  • Support the development of the on-premise and cloud application strategy across the enterprise, working with Architects and other IT Technical Delivery Teams to ensure applications, network security, and telephony applications are consistently provided across Speedy.
  • Research and recommend new technologies for all colleagues across Speedy.
  • Develop and revise statements of work with accurate cost and time estimates aligned to the overall delivery plan.
  • Excellent organizational skills to successfully coordinate the efforts of an IT department.
  • The ability to think strategically, anticipate future developments, and provide technical vision.
  • Support the development of the product roadmap and technology strategy.
  • Ensure technology is robust and scalable for future growth.
