Key Account Manager – Large Scale
As a Senior Account Manager for Large Scale Solar Projects at SMA Solar UK Ltd., you will be responsible for selling the SMA portfolio to EPCs, direct customers, and indirect companies for large photovoltaic projects. Your primary focus will be on managing key customer accounts and expanding existing business relationships with key international customers or a key region/country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage key accounts and foster long-lasting relationships.
- Sell the entire SMA product range, from tender stage through to project completion, with a primary focus on inverters for grid-connected solar and storage systems.
- Monitor, coordinate, and facilitate activities worldwide for strategically important customers, taking into account various business models (EPCs, installers, Distribution Partners, aftersales) in close partnership with the relevant SMA specialist departments.
- Develop and implement sales strategies.
- Work closely with other specialist departments (e.g., product management/service/TSS) to respond to customer queries and tenders. Build 'bid teams' through cooperation with other departments and sales teams.
- Develop customer business plans and implement them.
- Implement tactical and strategic measures to increase sales.
- Develop account-specific communication strategies.
- Attend trade shows, trade partner conferences, congresses, and forums. Conduct quarterly and annual meetings with key customers.
- Implement sales campaigns (e.g., in-house trade shows, training seminars, and technical advice sessions) and product-related on-site training workshops.
- Identify and analyze sales and market trends, identifying and visiting new customers with the aim of generating revenue.
- Provide support to tender developers in order to offer SMA in tenders and analysis of sales results in case of possible participation in tenders.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in combination with excellent commercial skills, a Business degree is an asset.
- Relevant professional experience in Key or Global Account Management, especially working with high-value customers.
- Convincing professional sales personality with high customer orientation and negotiation skills.
- Independent and result-oriented in combination with high motivation, flexibility as well as excellent communication skills.
- Very good English language skills.
- Willingness to travel (> 50%).
- Industry Knowledge.
- Product knowledge.
- Utility experience.
- Strategic selling principles.
- Tender experience
