About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting, Insight and Advisory Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our financial services team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Accounting, Insight and Advisory (AIA) team, providing expert guidance and support to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the AIA team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, including budgeting, cost management, and billing, primarily reporting under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
  • Provide finance function support to our clients, including possible secondments.
  • Develop and implement effective training and coaching programs to enhance the skills and professional growth of team members.
  • Monitor and manage conflicting workloads for team members, prioritizing requirements to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Project manage the end-to-end process of engagements, driving timelines, managing clients and teams, and ensuring delivery of high-quality projects.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure agreed deadlines are met and significant issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Actively own risk management and take ownership of weekly client calls to establish a close working relationship with primary client contacts.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years post-qualification experience.
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA).
  • Working experience of UK GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong technical skills, including FRS 102 and FRS 105 experience.
  • Working knowledge of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and/or other cloud accounting packages.
  • Good organization skills, ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of CCH or similar professional accounts preparation packages.
  • Experience of managing and overseeing a team within financial services, including training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft packages, including Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • A willingness to travel to client premises or other regional offices.
