Practice Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our team at St Andrews Health Centre. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients, working closely with our senior practice nurses and the practice team.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients, including assessment, health screening, health promotion, treatment, and evaluation of care.
- Contribute to the development of health promotion campaigns and peer support groups.
- Provide expert general practice nursing knowledge for the development of staff and the practice.
- Engage with PCN and locality colleagues and other stakeholders for at-scale and population health-based work.
- Play a significant role in the development of health promotion campaigns and peer support groups.
- Offer advice on childhood and adult vaccinations and administer vaccines within the relevant legal framework.
- Assist patients to identify their health needs and self-care capacities.
- Accurately document consultations according to practice policy.
- Recognise and report signs and symptoms of child and vulnerable adult abuse.
- Offer comprehensive contraception and sexual health services.
- Provide wound management, including post-operative care and implement wound care in line with current evidence-based guidelines.
- Implement infection control guidelines and the practice policy and be responsible for cold chain management in the practice.
- RGN qualification and experience in general practice.
- Trained in childhood and adult immunisation, cervical screening, basic life support, and management of anaphylaxis, wound care, safeguarding, infection control, and information governance.
- Nursing qualification and experience in more than one area of long-term conditions management.
- Travel health, sexual health, and ear care experience.
We offer a competitive salary, inclusive of Inner London Allowance, according to experience and qualifications. You will also receive membership of the NHS Pension and group indemnity scheme. In addition, you will have access to 5 days of additional study leave at the discretion of the management.
Usual practice working hours are within 8am to 8pm, including evening sessions potentially weekends as required.
