We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our team at Brocklebank Group Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality primary care services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide evidence-based practice to deliver general Practice Nursing duties within General Practice.
- Promote a healthy lifestyle and participate in National Immunisation and Screening programmes for patients.
- Provide evidence-based high-quality wound care for patients within General Practice.
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and with regard to local and national policies, guidelines, and protocols.
- Undertake clinical duties, with relevant training, in some or all of the following areas:
- Cervical Cytology
- ECG
- Spirometry
- NHS Health Checks
- Post Natal Clinics
- Wound Care
- Phlebotomy
- Ear Care
- Childhood Immunisation and Travel Vaccination
- Long Term Condition Clinics
- Family Planning Advice
- Hypertension Monitoring
- Actively encourage and facilitate lifestyle choices for patients by providing health promotion during routine screening procedures, cervical cytology, over 75-year check, well woman/men checks, chronic disease management.
- Use analytical and judgemental skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate clinical packages of care in collaboration with the patient and other health and social care professionals.
- Undertake clinical procedures with awareness for potential hazards, risks, and infection control policies.
- Have an understanding and work within Patient Group Directions to administer medication where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively using a variety of communication skills; verbal and non-verbal, written and electronic, with a variety of patients, client groups, individuals, and organisations within and external to the NHS.
- Use effective communication skills with a diverse patient and relative group, using negotiation and persuasive skills to motivate.
- The ability to concentrate for long periods of time with frequent interruptions and unpredictable workload and occasional distressing or emotional consultations.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all consultations in accordance with practice and NMC guidelines.
- Ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Undertake any other duties that may be required of you to help the surgery run smoothly.
- Hold current NMC membership and professional defence membership.
- Ensure that you take notice of and operate within the relevant guidelines including:

- Fire and Personal safety
- Take responsibility for your own Professional Development and PREP, by attending relevant meetings, courses, seminars, and keep professionally up-to-date. In agreement with the practices study leave guidelines.
