Commercial Manager - Energy Sector

Murphy is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager to join their award-winning Energy team in the North East of England. As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the Project, maintaining regular liaison with all stakeholders, and ensuring that contractual obligations and commercial risks are reviewed prior to tender submission.

About the Role

  • Efficiently manage all commercial aspects of the Project, ensuring timely and accurate cost control and financial reporting.
  • Provide commercial guidance and support to the project team, ensuring that commercial decisions are made in the best interest of the company.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Commercial Manager to develop and implement commercial strategies, ensuring alignment with Murphy's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that all commercial activities are conducted in accordance with Murphy's policies and procedures, and that all relevant laws and regulations are complied with.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders, ensuring that commercial interests are protected and that Murphy's reputation is enhanced.

Requirements

  • Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC) and Standard Methods of Measurement.
  • Commercially astute with substantial experience within a commercial role in the Civil Engineering / Construction Industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
