We are looking for a new Data Services Leader, a role combining hands-on data engineering/development with leadership of the company's data management and acquisition strategy. This role encompasses the entire Chief Nation data suite, which includes operational and programmatic data, intrinsic to our B2B marketing operations.

The successful candidate will lead and mentor the data team and will be hands-on in the technical aspects of data management & optimisation, integrations, application management, business continuity and security / compliance management.

The role is central to providing technical leadership of the evolution of data capabilities and involves constant collaboration with other key teams within the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating, managing, optimising data pipelines and reporting environments.
• Collaborating & communicating with all departments to understand systems generating data and how they are consuming data.
• Conducting in-depth analysis on data to identify hidden (or sometimes not so hidden) patterns of incorrect categorisation.
• Proactively and constantly optimising the cost of the data platform.
• Actively participating in strategic data discussions across the organisation, seeking to mature data practises and evolve the use of data to offer new ways to deliver on our mission and improve operational efficiency.
• Being a champion for data security and compliance, constantly seeking ways to improve our posture and reduce our risk.
• Ensuring our data environment and practices enable us to take advantage of advanced analytics and AI to improve our operational efficiency and secure event registrations.

The ideal candidate will have advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) & optimisation. They will also have experience building and optimising data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. Additionally, they will have experience defining and managing operational data flows including designing, building and maintaining robust integrations between various systems.
