The Role

We are seeking an experienced Careers Adviser to join our team at HMP Maidstone & HMP East Sutton Park. As a Careers Adviser, you will provide residents with professional and impartial careers information, advice, and guidance, helping them develop motivation and work-related skills to achieve employment, education, training, apprenticeship, or volunteering on release.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver inspirational IAG and Employability programs in 1:1 and group sessions
  • Work with prison staff to recruit, manage, mentor, and support a caseload of peer mentors
  • Provide residents with professional and impartial careers information, advice, and guidance
  • Help residents develop motivation and work-related skills

Requirements

  • IAG qualification to level 4 or above
  • Ability to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients
  • Non-judgmental attitude with a desire to support people to fulfill their full potential
  • High level of organizational skills with good time management
