Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced pharmacist to join our team as a Senior Support Pharmacist Healthcare of Older People Services. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

About the Role

This is a band 6 to 7 development role that involves working as a Clinical Support Pharmacist based at a single site in our rotational programme. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality specialist clinical pharmacy service, with a strong emphasis on supporting you in developing leadership and mentoring skills to the next level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver a high-quality specialist clinical pharmacy service
  • Develop leadership and mentoring skills to the next level
  • Take on enhanced roles relating to education and training, such as developing training programmes and involvement with training of new doctors
  • Supervise less experienced members of the team, including junior pharmacists and trainee pharmacists
  • Work with drug budget information and possess knowledge of available resources to answer Medicines Information queries

Person Specification

We are looking for a pharmacist with the following qualifications and experience:

  • Vocational Masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Completed or near completion of a postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification
  • Membership of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Post-registration work experience as a pharmacist in hospital pharmacy, covering a range of specialties
  • Previous participation in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Commitment to own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
