About the Role:

In this exciting opportunity, you will serve as a key member of our team, leading the development of distribution-focused subject matter expertise in DER power system studies and project development. As a Senior DER Planning Engineer Leader, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective planning and implementation of distribution system projects.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, including power generation, energy storage, reliability, load flow, flicker, stability, short circuit, voltage regulation, transients, power factor, losses, etc. Additionally, you should have experience using power system modeling and simulation software for steady-state power flow, voltage, short circuit, stability, and electromagnetic transients.

You will also have the opportunity to represent the company on various industry-related committees and participate in regional distribution and substation expansion studies with other utilities and the ISO planning staff. We offer a competitive total rewards program, including an annual salary range of $122,000-$140,000 plus incentive, commensurate with your experience.

What You Will Do:

  1. Develop and implement distribution system power flow models for studying DER interconnections
  2. Assess and analyze proposed solutions associated with DER integration and their impact on the ISO-NE regional system
  3. Create design solutions and alternatives to mitigate assessment criteria violations
  4. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for planning needs and proposed plans
  5. Conduct assessments and develop interconnection options or alternative solutions
  6. Represent the company on various industry-related committees
  7. Participate in regional distribution and substation expansion studies with other utilities and the ISO planning staff
