Clinical Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to provide high-quality phlebotomy services to our registered patient list at Wellside Surgery.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients
- Accurately label specimens for transfer to the laboratory
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records/results books
- Prepare specimens for collection
- Dip urine samples, report results to GP
- Perform ECGs, report results to GP
- Adhere to all infection prevention and control procedures
- Provide chaperone services as required
- Involvement in research studies as required
- Assist with stock ordering to include blood bottles, gloves, dressings and other prep/treatment room supplies as required
- Assist with ensuring all consulting and treatment rooms are kept adequately stocked
- Assist in collection and appropriate disposal of clinical waste

This is a great opportunity for a qualified Phlebotomist to join our friendly clinical team in looking after our practice population of approximately 7900 patients.
Person Specification
- Good standard of general education
- Recognised phlebotomy qualification
- Phlebotomy experience
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to use initiative
What We Offer
Competitive rates of pay commensurate with experience.
The position is offered initially on a 9-month contract to cover a period of adoption leave.
