About Us

Wellside Surgery is a dedicated team providing high quality general medical services to our growing patient population. Our clinical team of 12, which is led by our 3 GP partners, is supported by our reception/dispensary/administrative and management teams.

Job Summary

  • Provide high quality phlebotomy services to our registered list of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients.
  • Accurately label specimens for transfer to the laboratory.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records / results books.
  • Prepare specimens for collection.
  • Dip urine samples, report results to GP.
  • Perform ECGs, report results to GP.
  • Adhere to all infection prevention and control procedures.
  • Provide chaperone services as required.
  • Involvement in research studies as required.
  • Assist with stock ordering to include blood bottles, gloves, dressings and other prep/treatment room supplies as required.
  • Assist with ensuring all consulting and treatment rooms are kept adequately stocked.
  • Assist in collection and appropriate disposal of clinical waste.

Requirements

  • Recognised phlebotomy qualification.
  • Good standard of general education.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexible and reliable.
