Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our clinical team at Wellside Surgery. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality phlebotomy services to our registered patients.
About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Phlebotomist to work in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be part of a close-knit team of 12, led by our 3 GP partners, and will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients
- Accurately label specimens for transfer to the laboratory
- Maintain complete and accurate patient records/results books
- Prepare specimens for collection
- Dip urine samples, report results to GP
- Perform ECGs, report results to GP
- Adhere to all infection prevention and control procedures
- Provide chaperone services as required
- Involvement in research studies as required
- Assist with stock ordering to include blood bottles, gloves, dressings and other prep/treatment room supplies as required
- Assist with ensuring all consulting and treatment rooms are kept adequately stocked
- Assist in collection and appropriate disposal of clinical waste
We are looking for a Phlebotomist who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure. You should have a good standard of general education and a recognized phlebotomy qualification. Previous experience in General Practice is desirable but not essential.
