Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our clinical team at Wellside Surgery. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality phlebotomy services to our registered list of patients.

Main Duties
  • Perform venepuncture to collect blood samples from patients
  • Accurately label specimens for transfer to the laboratory
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records/results books
  • Prepare specimens for collection
  • Dip urine samples, report results to GP
  • Perform ECGs, report results to GP
  • Adhere to all infection prevention and control procedures
  • Provide chaperone services as required
  • Involvement in research studies as required
  • Assist with stock ordering to include blood bottles, gloves, dressings and other prep/treatment room supplies as required
  • Assist with ensuring all consulting and treatment rooms are kept adequately stocked. Eg. specimen containers, path lab forms, prescription and plain paper, etc. as required
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and tidy prep room
  • Assist in collection and appropriate disposal of clinical waste
