Job Description: Learning and Development Mentor for Children with Autism

Empowering Learning is a dynamic organization dedicated to empowering individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are seeking a talented Learning and Development Mentor to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our pupils.

About the Position

The successful candidate will provide guidance, support, and encouragement to help pupils with ASD reach their full potential. As a Learning and Development Mentor, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring that each child receives tailored support and achieves academic success.

Key Duties:

  1. Assist pupils with ASD in developing essential life skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence.
  2. Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  3. Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and report regularly to parents and carers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with ASD or similar conditions.
  • Strong understanding of autism-friendly practices and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid DBS registration or willingness to apply.
