Compliance and Safety Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Safety Specialist to join our team in Grimsby, UK. As a key member of our HSEQ department, you will be responsible for maintaining safety records, conducting inspections, and providing expert advice on quality, working conditions, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all SHEQ records, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough safety inspections to identify potential hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with Business Units to maintain certified SHEQ systems, promoting a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement improvement measures based on audits and incidents to enhance overall safety performance.
- Create and review project HSE plans and Job Risk Analysis to minimize risks and ensure compliance.
- Offer expert guidance on quality, working conditions, and the environment to stakeholders and team members, fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
- Design and deliver training programs on safety and SHEQ systems, raising awareness and understanding among employees.
- Oversee SHEQ projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation.
- Support the development of policies and annual plans for SHEQ, aligning with business objectives.
- Provide counsel to the General Manager on safety matters, recommending improvements to enhance safety performance.
Requirements:
- Possess a NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in English to effectively communicate with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.
