We are a global chemicals company, one of the world's leading manufacturers of our product, used in various applications across commercial and domestic markets.
As a Process Safety Engineer at our organization, you will be part of a small team responsible for managing and controlling major accident hazards and risks to the site. You will ensure compliance with company standards and legislative requirements.
This role reports to the Head of Process Safety, focusing on Engineering change management processes, HAZOP, SIL, and ATEX requirements. Key aspects include providing support and promoting Process Safety Management internally in line with legal requirements and internal engineering standards.
Responsibilities:- Lead the development and implementation of internal process safety policies and procedures to meet COMAH regulations requirements and site PSM program.
- Provide leadership and technical assistance on process safety issues, acting as the local expert for process safety activities.
- Support the site HSE and Engineering teams as required to ensure each site is fully compliant with all relevant current and future legislation and other requirements in all areas of process safety.
- Advise and support stakeholders on process safety matters, including FEED, COMAH, DSEAR, SIL, etc.
Candidates should have experience in a COMAH environment and safety case development or maintenance in a high-hazard industry, ideally in the chemical sector, as well as experience in Hazard Analysis.
A degree in Chemical Engineering is required, with a desire to work towards Chartered status if not already achieved.
