About the Role:
Clintar Commercial Outdoor Services is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to join our team in the GTA, York, and Durham areas. As a key member of our Landscape Maintenance division, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing irrigation systems, as well as performing routine maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Install and maintain irrigation systems, including system openings and closings, low-voltage lighting service and repairs, and green roof maintenance and installation
• Perform spring start-ups, season adjustments, and winterizations of irrigation systems
• Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system problems, including replacing sprinklers and fixing leaks
• Test completed irrigation systems for proper functioning of valves and timers
• Utilize hand and power tools, as well as perform hand trenching with a shovel
• Work independently on service calls and interact with customers to maintain their systems and answer questions in a professional manner
• Plan, coordinate, and maintain adequate part inventory in company vehicles
• Ensure work is performed efficiently and in a timely manner
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and demonstrate hazard awareness
• Participate in training sessions and commit to ongoing learning to develop skills and become a Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT)
• Safely navigate company vehicles and maintain a clean driving record
• Prepare time-sheets, service sheets, and other daily paperwork as required
Requirements:
• 2-5 years of experience as an Irrigation Service Technician
• Extensive knowledge of irrigation products, specialized tools, troubleshooting, and repair
• Valid Class G driver's license with a clean driving record and driver's abstract
• Self-motivated, eager to learn, and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills to enhance job performance
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both orally and in writing
• Some plumbing or copper soldering experience beneficial but not mandatory
