Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Tier III Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Leidos. As a key member of our Digital Modernization Sector, you will be responsible for supporting various WAN and LAN networks, providing incident resolution, routing changes, and firewall changes, and acting as a subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new network technologies and make recommendations to the network architecture team.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems and replace defective components.
  • Support operations and maintain activities, administer networks, and monitor system performance.
  • Configure, test, and prepare hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards.
  • Perform long-term O&M activities, including tier 3 troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Utilize complex network analysis tools to identify and correct problems in the network.
  • Provide fault management for the network and support performance management functions.
  • Respond, isolate, and resolve network troubles.
  • Monitor security posture and report suspected violations to designated authority.
  • Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance on components for network management systems.
  • Analyze network characteristics and recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
  • Optimize network topologies and site configurations.
  • Coordinate requirements with users and suppliers.
  • Organize and direct network installations on site surveys.
  • Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
Requirements
  • TS SCI with a Poly.
  • 16 years of experience, which can be a combination of work history and education.
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Support operations and maintain activities and administer networks, including hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Monitor the performance of systems and networks.
  • Support routine network startup and shutdown procedures and maintain control records.
  • Configure, test, and prepare hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the engineering review boards.
  • Perform a full range of upgrades in accordance with existing network architecture.
  • Review user requests for upgrades or additions to the network to assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting user requirements.

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
