Job Title: Senior Buyer

Mission:

To provide strategic and operational level purchasing support to the Residential Controls Segment, including:

  1. Direct Parts Procurement and Sourcing
  2. Parts Productivity Improvement and Optimization
  3. Indirect Parts Purchasing and Management, including Services and Capital
  4. Purchasing Performance Reporting and Analysis
  5. Supplier Management and Development
  6. Representing the Buying Team on New Product Introduction Projects

Key Responsibilities:

  1. To ensure the setup and application of terms, including pricing, of purchased component parts as procured within the Plant.
  2. To support the procurement/planning team to ensure the timing and accurate supply of Purchased parts within the plant.
  3. To support the Supply Chain Manager and Buyers within the SE Global Purchasing Groups in data preparation, projects, and activities relating to the group purchasing of components, raw materials, and services.
  4. To identify, qualify, project manage, and deliver material cost savings within the plant.
  5. To represent the Supply Chain team on NPI projects and support the sourcing of new components and materials.
  6. To be the first point of contact relating to any Direct Material Purchasing activities within the plant.
  7. To provide operational support in the procurement and management of all indirect purchase areas, including services and capital.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years in a Purchasing role within a volume manufacturing plant.
  2. High level of computer/ERP literacy, including knowledge of business reporting, forecasting, financial, and business systems.
  3. Firm understanding of cross-functional inter-dependencies (operations, finance, supply chain).
  4. Project and process management, including an understanding of business process re-engineering methodologies.
  5. Experience in working on NPI project teams in the sourcing and selection of new components/materials.

Education:

  1. Likely to be educated to degree level with a Manufacturing/Supply Chain/Procurement qualification or a related discipline.
  2. English B2.
