About the Role

The main purpose of this position is to conduct original research, including designing and conducting experiments, recording, analyzing, presenting, and writing up results. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team at UCL Eastman Dental Institute, aimed at understanding the metabolic and signaling properties of inositol phosphates and their role in controlling cellular functions.

About You

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant biomedical discipline or related subject area. The ideal candidate will have proven knowledge of cell biology, biochemistry, and microbiology, as well as expertise in microbiology, specifically Tetrahymena thermophila and Dictyostelium discoideum, nuclear purification by differential centrifugation, and inositol phosphate purification and analysis.

What We Offer

In addition to the stimulating work environment, we offer a competitive salary range of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct experiments to understand inositol metabolism and its role in cellular functions.
  • Analyze and present results, write reports, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the research team to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement new techniques and methods to improve research outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant biomedical discipline or related subject area.
  • Proven knowledge of cell biology, biochemistry, and microbiology.
  • Expertise in microbiology, specifically Tetrahymena thermophila and Dictyostelium discoideum, nuclear purification by differential centrifugation, and inositol phosphate purification and analysis.
