As a Senior Plant Research Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing high-quality plant growth recipes for our customers. With strong knowledge of plant biology, you'll plan and execute crop trials, ensuring optimal results. Your expertise will also be instrumental in testing new nutrients, fertigation systems, and developing crop recipes and growth models based on environmental inputs in our IGS growth towers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with research & product management teams to manage trials for all crops in the pipeline
  • Coordinating with data science teams to ensure robust data collection during trials, finalizing reports, and sharing them with relevant stakeholders
  • Establishing a framework for the Quality Management System (QMS) with the product management & science team to guarantee food safety of the final produce
  • Leading the internal QMS system and running analysis on various samples provided by stakeholders
  • Participating in various cross-functional research projects at IGS

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A PhD + 2-3 years of experience in Plant Biology, Physiology, Plant Biochemistry, Horticulture, Plant Breeding, Genetics, Chemistry, Bioinformatics, Agricultural Engineering, or other related disciplines
  • Masters + 5 years of industrial experience in relevant areas
  • Experience in indoor plant growth (Green House, Container, Vertical Farm)
  • Experience in managing people, resources, and research pipelines
  • Project management tools skills are desirable
  • A very good understanding of plant biology and growth processes, photobiology, plant metabolic pathways, nutrients, growth substrates, and fertigation systems
  • Dealing with internal & external stakeholders, customers, technology transfer, IP, and legal
  • Plant assays, analysis, diagnostics, Quality Management System experience
  • Crop Imaging, data analysis experience

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additionally, you'll enjoy:
