Regional Development Manager - Yorkshire/Northeast

Reference: AB/269

Basic £50K to £60k per annum, Car Allowance, PMI, Pension, Bonus, plus some excellent staff benefits.

This is an exciting and very good time to be joining one of the UK's most progressive and professional insurance companies operating in the UK today.

The role is Regional Development Manager where you will be working primarily in Yorkshire & the Northeast looking after an intermediary panel to support the delivery of the Mid-Market, Specialisms, SME and Schemes business plans for their broker customers.

This role would be home based and managing your time effectively being out seeing brokers, although you may work from one of their various regional offices throughout the UK if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of the growth of Commercial business for a panel broker relationships.
  • Working closely with all functions to support the delivery of the Mid-Market, Specialisms, SME and Schemes business plans for broker customers.
  • Responsible for development of a joint business plan for our broker partners, and mobilising actions across the business that deliver that plan.
  • Keep up to date with relevant external developments and changes to identify opportunities.
  • Drive innovation in the development, delivery and enhancement of solutions and services for our customers.
  • Achieve the sales plan goals, targets and action plans.
  • Build and maintain strong senior stakeholder relationships across the company Insurance to ensure personal credibility with key decision makers.
  • Build and deploy effective customer account pipeline and prospecting approaches for each broker.
  • Deployed on strategic development and operational sales responsibility for panel customers.
  • Provide a service to all of customers (internal and external) that is memorable for the right reasons and builds our reputation as a great company to work for and do business with.
  • Work closely with the SRM and Leadership Teams to deliver effective sales ownership and deployment across the Commercial customer base.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the competitors and brokers across the UK Commercial marketplace.
  • Deliver agreed sales activity levels for the broker panel and maintain high levels of sales discipline and administration effectiveness.
  • Manage tenders and deals emanating from panel customers.
  • Support the delivery of successful product launches and major customer/hospitality events in respect of advocacy and maximising attendees.

Key Skills:

  • Track record of sales and relationship development in the Commercial & HNW market.
  • Strong knowledge of the intermediated Commercial.
  • Reputation for consistent delivery of excellent service to brokers and customers.
  • Proven ability to deliver sales plan goals, targets, and action plans.
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining strong internal stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to develop an holistic overview of a broker's business and plans.
  • Ability to develop and deploy a joint business plan with a panel broker, and mobilise actions to deliver that plan.
  • Excellent sales and relationship development skills, and discipline to meet sales activity levels.
  • Sound project management and business planning capability.
  • Initiate and drive positive change.
  • Have a 'can do' attitude and proactively seek solutions and opportunities.
  • Innovative and resourceful in approach to problems and opportunities and positively challenge the status quo.
