Job Title: Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our team as an Advanced Pharmacist. The successful candidate will have a passion for high-quality patient care and a strong background in cardiovascular pharmacology.

Job Summary

The Advanced Pharmacist will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to colleagues in the Cardiovascular and Lipid Disorders service. This will include contributing to the strategic planning of the service, managing and implementing services to improve pharmaceutical care, and participating in financial reporting and drug budget management.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to colleagues in the Cardiovascular and Lipid Disorders service.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the service.
  • Manage and implement services to improve pharmaceutical care.
  • Participate in financial reporting and drug budget management.
  • Participate in service metric collection, clinical audit, research, risk management, and clinical guideline development.
Requirements
  • Registered Pharmacist.
  • Master's degree (MSc) in pharmacy or equivalent.
  • MSc or Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent clinical pharmacy qualifications.
  • Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
  • Membership of professional groups and/or relevant specialist societies.
  • Membership of RPS.
  • Educational supervisor accreditation.
  • Formal management training.
  • Genomics modules.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates a good core knowledge of therapeutics and pharmacology with a record of successful application in current post.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant NHS policy or project-specific policy context.
  • Aware of the latest evidence and research within cardiology and ability to apply evidence-based practice into patient care.
  • Record of research and/or audit and/or scholarly publications.
  • Membership of regional/national/international specialist interest groups relevant to field of practice.
  • Effective report writing skills.
  • Ability to critically analyse and apply research to the clinical setting.
  • Experience of having managed an area of clinical pharmacy services and deliver pharmaceutical services to cardiovascular patients.
  • Evidence of leading programmes of education and training.
  • Extended clinical practice underpinned by training and assessment.
  • Specialist clinical pharmacy experience in a relevant area.
  • Practice Research experience.
  • Clinical experience in intensive care or another level 2/3 environment.
