Job Title: Adventure Learning Professional

George Watson's College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adventure Learning Professional to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and leading the Adventure Learning Programme for the School and its pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To develop and lead the Adventure Learning Programme, working closely with the Adventure Learning Manager and other stakeholders.
  • To organise and lead expeditions, including route planning, allocation of assessors, and logistics.
  • To use existing school systems to ensure safe and effective management of expeditions and Adventure Learning opportunities.
  • To support the Gold and Silver training team by attending training sessions and expeditions as an assessor, supervisor, and trainer.
  • To develop and deliver a range of adventurous activities and training, including skills courses, Mountain Days, and residential opportunities.
  • To liaise with pupils, parents, and staff to provide information and opportunities.
  • To develop and deliver an outdoor-based educational pathway for senior school pupils, providing formal qualifications and NGB awards.
  • To develop and manage outdoor-based nurture sessions for children with additional needs.
  • To work with state schools in the area to provide access to Adventure Learning opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Current water-based Scottish or National Governing Body (SGB or NGB) awards would be an advantage.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and development programs.
Contract Type:

0.6 FTE, Permanent
