The Role: Health and Safety Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the well-being of our employees and maintaining a safe working environment across our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct leadership and guidance to the Health and Safety Technician, overseeing their daily activities and contributing to the development of the extended Health and Safety Team.
- Conduct comprehensive internal Health and Safety audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Facilitate regular meetings with the Health and Safety Team and Site Director, ensuring open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
- Deliver engaging safety induction presentations to new employees, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Investigate hazard observations, near misses, and incidents promptly, implementing effective remedial actions to mitigate risks.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis for any lost-time incidents, identifying systemic issues and implementing preventative measures.
- Collaborate closely with the Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations across all aspects of facility operations, including risk assessments, COSHH, Legionella control, and fire safety.
- Support the Facilities Manager in managing building contracts, overseeing contractor activities, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols during repairs and maintenance projects.
- Respond efficiently to Helpdesk tickets and ensure timely completion of all Quality Management System (QMS) documentation.
