Job SummaryThis is a full-time permanent position for a Medical Secretary in the Department of Renal Medicine at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. While prior medical experience is not essential, proven audio typing skills are mandatory, alongside a strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, a methodical approach to work, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality administrative support to the department's medical staff.
- Maintain accurate records and files, ensuring confidentiality and integrity.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Proven audio typing skills ( minimum 40 wpm).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Methodical approach to work and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
This role is based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, with a full-time working week reduced from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024. However, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period until the service area changes rosters or working patterns.
