About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to join our UK&I Technology team at Sky. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of Software Engineers and Testers, supporting their personal development, and driving the delivery of complex technology projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of Software Engineers and Testers, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement effective roadmaps and release engineering strategies to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Assess and maintain team morale, balancing the needs of our people and our business.
  • Measure and manage adherence to Engineering Standards across the team, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Run recruitment pipelines for the team, ensuring sufficient capacity to deliver the roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, dependency owners, and leaders from other disciplines.
Requirements
  • Background in Software Engineering or experience leading Software Engineers delivering modern solutions in a complex environment.
  • Passion for leading people, spotting and growing talent, and delivering through others.
  • Experience motivating team members to take accountability for their work, providing clear direction and opportunities for learning and feedback.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with experience making work visible and facilitating sessions to discuss all aspects of Software Development.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate between teams, taking pride and ownership in your work.
