Position Overview

We are seeking an Engineering Lead to guide our Hardware & Software division in our Livingston location.

As an Engineering Lead, you will oversee the essential technologies and operations of the engineering team within Plexus Engineering Solutions. Your responsibilities will include actively shaping the team's culture and enhancing the overall work environment.

You will also spearhead high-priority initiatives that are crucial to the organization.

Additionally, you will manage temporary or special projects that may not align with specific organizational duties but require dedicated leadership to address unique site needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Guarantees the technical success of projects by comprehending client requirements, staffing projects with suitable resources, and promoting continuous enhancement of tools and methodologies. Identifies potential project challenges and implements corrective measures as needed. Maintains and enhances the Quality Management System through process ownership and corrective action resolution.
  • Talent Acquisition and Growth: Expands and develops technical and leadership skills by recruiting diverse and high-potential talent that strengthens our workforce, products, and processes. Sets and achieves team growth objectives through workforce expansion and skill enhancement to meet ongoing client demands.
  • Core Values Leadership: Exemplifies and holds the team accountable for demonstrating Plexus Core Values. Focuses on assessing potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring team members receive the necessary development and coaching to reach their full potential.
  • Financial Oversight: Optimizes non-billable hours, reducing administrative tasks while maximizing value-added activities within the team. Effectively manages staffing levels to meet client and business needs. Oversees capital expenditure planning for the team.
  • Project Leadership: Efficiently manages team resources and leads company projects and/or client projects to successful completion. Collaborates with the engineering team to identify solutions that meet project requirements. Manages expectations regarding project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, deliverables, and any modifications to the initial proposal.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred.
  • At least seven (7) years of relevant experience is required; two (2) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred.
  • Two (2) years of Project Management experience, and two (2) years' experience with Plexus (or a similar service industry) is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job responsibilities may be considered.
