We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our Outpatient Department at Malvern Community Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient-centered care to individuals attending our Outpatient Department, working closely with Consultants, Specialist Nurses, and Community Services Teams.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, adhering to the philosophy of patient-centered care and Trust standards.
- Practice as a member of the Community Hospital Nursing team, supporting and working in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Plan and deliver individual nursing care under the direction of senior staff, ensuring effective communication and transfer of information.
- Document care given and maintain contemporaneous records, adhering to Trust policies and NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- Assist in the implementation of health promotion strategies, as agreed by the Outpatient Manager.
- Collaborate with other team members to organize the reception and discharge of patients, ensuring effective communication and transfer of information.
- Carry out delegated nursing care, using and participating in research/audit in care delivery.
- Adhere to and promote all clinical practice, health and safety, and corporate Trust Policies and Guidelines.
- Experience gained during pre-registration training.
- Post-registration experience in an inpatient setting (desirable).
- Previous experience of day-to-day management (desirable).
- Ability to challenge poor behavior, role model good behavior, and act on feedback.
- Positive attitude, ability to praise and be supportive to others, and ability to communicate effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
- Able to work competently without supervision, reflect on practice, and demonstrate compassion and empathy skills.
- Flexible, lateral thinker, excellent communication skills, proven ability to motivate others, and versatile and adaptable.
- Able to cope under pressure, team player, and basic IT skills.
- Variety of evidence-based clinical skills, confidence to teach student nurses, patients, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team, and understanding of evidence-based nursing, multidisciplinary working, clinical governance, and audit.
- Awareness of advance care planning, understanding of symptom management in the last days of life, and competence in medication administration via various routes.
