Autism Unlimited is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team in Weymouth. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the life of Carina, a vibrant individual in her early 30s who enjoys a range of activities.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting Carina's growth and development, fostering independence and encouraging her to reach her full potential. You will work closely with Carina, providing personalized care and assistance with daily tasks, while also facilitating her participation in social activities and hobbies.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate and person-centered support to Carina, assisting with personal care, medication administration, and other daily living activities.
  • Encourage Carina's independence and foster her social skills by facilitating her participation in community activities, arts and crafts groups, and outings.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to create a safe and supportive environment for Carina.
  • Maintain accurate records of Carina's progress and communicate effectively with other team members and professionals involved in her care.
  • Work collaboratively with the support team to ensure that Carina's needs are met and her well-being is prioritized.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Social Care qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviors effectively and compassionately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential, as travel to various activities in Weymouth is required.
