Job Overview

The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Patient Transport Coordinator to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care across Wales.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating non-emergency patient transport services, ensuring that patients receive safe and efficient transportation to and from appointments at hospitals and treatment centers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Process telephone calls from patients and hospital staff requesting non-urgent ambulance transport
  • Assess the most appropriate method of transport for patients and accurately process requests accordingly
  • Check systems to see if transport has been booked, inputting requests, identifying arrival times of transport on the day of journey
  • Provide support to the planning and day control teams within the Non-Emergency Patient Transport Service department

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Typing and I.T. skills, with excellent keyboard skills
  • A good knowledge of the geographical areas of all Wales and the ability to converse in the Welsh language (essential)
