Digital Preservation Specialist

The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a highly skilled Archive Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our heritage resource centre, you will play a vital role in maintaining and managing our physical archive, conserving archive documents, photographs, and bottles to ensure long-term protection and preservation.
Key Responsibilities- Archive Management: Maintain and manage the physical archive, ensuring the preservation of documents, photographs, and other materials.
- Record Keeping: Record, catalog, scan, and photograph archive records, entering data into our archive database (AXIELL).
- Content Creation: Populate and update our Chivas Brothers Archive website and microsites using archive records to prepare historical timelines as required for brands, distilleries, and facilities.
- Collaboration: Work with departments from across the business, including Marketing, Intellectual Property, and Communications, to respond to requests for heritage creative content.
- Research: Conduct historical research using web-based research facilities and provide historical research and evidence to support brand claims and intellectual property cases.
- A graduate in archival science, history, library science, or archives and record management.
- Experience in digital archiving (e.g., ADLIB/CALM/AXIELL).
- Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels within the business.
- Able to demonstrate analytical abilities and organisational skills.
- A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
