Job Title: Archive Assistant

The Digital Preservation Coalition is seeking a skilled Archive Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our heritage resource centre, you will play a vital role in maintaining and managing our physical archive, conserving archive documents, photographs, and bottles to ensure long-term protection and preservation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and manage the physical archive, ensuring the preservation of historical records and artifacts.
  2. Record, catalogue, scan, and photograph archive records, entering data into our archive database (AXIELL).
  3. Populate and update the Chivas Brothers Archive website and microsites using archive records to prepare historical timelines as required for brands, distilleries, and facilities.
  4. Collaborate with departments across the business to respond to requests for heritage creative content, driving innovation and competitive advantage.
  5. Deliver responses to business needs in a timely manner, working closely with Business Units.
  6. Leverage digital tools to provide heritage knowledge of key brands, conducting historical research using web-based research facilities and providing evidence to support brand claims and intellectual property cases.
Requirements
  1. A graduate in archival science, history, library science, or archives and record management.
  2. Experience in digital archiving (e.g., ADLIB/CALM/AXIELL).
  3. Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels within the business.
  4. Organised and able to demonstrate analytical abilities, assimilating data quickly and carrying out appropriate analysis.
  5. A full, clean UK driving licence is required.
