Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £40,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including flexible work arrangements, an annual holiday entitlement of 22 days, and access to private healthcare through Bupa.

Responsibilities

The Marine Crewing Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing the marine crew, including:

  • Liaising with Crewing Agencies for the selection and provision of qualified seafarers
  • Confirming with Flag state Authority that the Certificates of Competency for all Marine personnel are authentic prior to appointment to Company Operated ships
  • Scheduling Crew rotas, including travel arrangements to/from vessel
  • Ensuring that crew welfare arrangements on company operated ships comply with the standards identified in the relevant Maritime Labour Convention (MLC 2006) standards
  • Arranging for revalidation of all Flag State CoC / CeC prior to expiry
  • Liaising with Vessel Superintendents on any additional personnel who may be required to join/visit Company Operated ships for repair, MLC, Flag or Class Inspection etc
  • Maintaining a working knowledge and being fully conversant with the principles identified in the Gardline Safety Management System
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working in a shipping and/or marine crewing role
  • A Diploma in Crew Management (desirable)
  • The right to work in the UK without restrictions and be based in the local Great Yarmouth area
  • Previous Administration experience, including excellent organisational skills
  • A high level of IT literacy, including Office, Microsoft Teams and Outlook
  • Strong communication skills, both in person and written
  • The ability to work as part of a team and perform well under pressure
  • A good command of written and spoken English
