We are a forward-thinking FinTech company, Insignis Cash, seeking a seasoned Payments and Risk Manager to enhance our team's capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Payments Team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of payment volumes, and defining the payment processing strategies for new products. This senior position requires a strong understanding of payment regulations and operational risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Payment FTE, ensuring all tasks are completed within the designated SLA while minimizing errors.
  • Assess risk and guarantee that Payments operations adhere to best practices and audit requirements.
  • Participate in payment projects and perform User Acceptance Testing.
  • Mentor team members and foster a culture of knowledge sharing and cross-training.
  • Strong understanding of payment regulations and operational risk.
  • Identify and implement operational improvements.
  • Update procedures and implement new processes for new products.
  • Oversee the daily reconciliation process to ensure platform and client account balances are aligned.
  • Identify and rectify issues, with further root cause analysis to provide feedback on training, process changes, or technical development to prevent future errors.
  • Verify team members' payment entries, interest, and platform-generated entries for accuracy before processing.
  • Monitor and allocate teams' workload, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Compile and allocate interest, fees, and other transactions to the Insignis platform.
  • Provide weekly reporting to the line manager on MI, errors, and issues, as well as SLA breaches.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify process and technology changes that can enhance the team's processes, relationships with the bank, and overall efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of experience in payments and team management.
  • Knowledge of payment processing, Faster Payments, Chaps, and Currency Payments.
  • Strong understanding of interest rates, calculations, and process changes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.

Nice to Have:

  • Good knowledge of UK domestic payment clearing and settlement cycles.
  • Understanding of PSR/PSD2 rules.
  • Knowledge of changes required for Financial Services firms to comply with APP rules and CoP.

  • Hybrid working pattern in London, with some initial travel to Cambridge required for training and thereafter 2 days per month.
