About the Role


In this dynamic and influential position, the Visitor Experience Manager will lead initiatives to create exceptional experiences for every visitor at Gunnersbury Park and Museum.


As part of our team, you will have the unique opportunity to shape how we engage our visitors and make a real difference in our communities. Our goal is to provide community benefit through the effective management, conservation, and interpretation of our heritage collections.


The successful candidate will lead the transformation of the Visitor Services Team, expanding beyond museum services to fully leverage the estate's heritage, its diversity of attractions, and its commitment to engaging all visitors.


You will be instrumental in fostering a supportive environment for volunteers by collaborating with the volunteer manager to advance our volunteer program and achieve Investing in Volunteers accreditation.


This role involves close oversight of the Public Programme, working with the Commercial Team to identify opportunities while preserving the park's accessibility and community appeal.


The Visitor Experience Manager will engage proactively with local communities, leading consultations, hosting discussion panels, and gathering insights that ensure community enjoyment and active involvement in shaping the Gunnersbury experience.


To support repeat visits, you will develop strategies to convert guests into loyal visitors, volunteers, and donors. You will also explore the feasibility of a Membership Scheme to deepen community connection.


Ultimately, the Visitor Experience Manager will foster a mission-driven environment where community connections are strengthened, Gunnersbury's heritage and appeal thrive, and every visitor's experience contributes to the well-being and community impact that defines Gunnersbury Park and Museum.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £40,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
